Email and password registration is the most common way to create an account on the EdTech platform. This guide provides a step-by-step process for signing up using an email address and a secure password. Additionally, users can register using Google OAuth for a quicker and seamless sign-up experience.

Navigating to the Registration Page

To begin the registration process, visit the Shalyam Registration Page. Here, you will find a registration form requiring the following details:

  • Email
  • Password
  • Username
  • User Type (options include Student, Teacher, Professor, School, College, University, Institution, or Industry Professional)

Once you have filled in the required details, click on the Sign Up button to proceed. If you prefer, you can also register using Google OAuth by clicking the Sign Up with Google button. If you already have an account, you can log in by selecting Login Here.

Filling Out the Registration Form

To successfully register, enter your details accurately:

  • Email Address: Provide a valid email address.
  • Username: Choose a unique username.
  • Password: Create a strong password that meets the platform’s security standards:
    • Must be at least 8 characters long.
    • Should include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters.
    • Should contain numbers and special characters for added security.
  • User Type: Select the appropriate category from the available options, such as Student, Teacher, Professor, School, College, University, Institution, or Industry Professional.

After filling in the form, click the Register button to submit your details. If you opt for Google OAuth, simply click Sign Up with Google to complete your registration instantly.

Email Verification Process

Upon submitting your registration form, a verification email will be sent to your registered email address. To verify your account:

  1. Open your email inbox and locate the verification email from the platform.
  2. Click on the verification link provided in the email.
  3. Your email will be verified, and your registration will be confirmed.

Logging In for the First Time

Once your email is verified, proceed to the login page:

  • Enter your registered email and password.
  • Click on the Login button to access your account.
  • If you registered using Google OAuth, select Sign In with Google to log in directly.

Completing Your Profile

After logging in, you should complete your profile setup:

  • Navigate to the Profile Setup section.
  • Upload a profile picture if required.
  • Provide additional information based on your selected user type.
  • Save the changes to finalize your account setup.
