How the internship program works

Sign in and enroll
Join the open cohort, pick one primary domain (Software, AI/ML, Design, and more), and get your personal dashboard. That domain stays with you for all 12 levels.

Unlock week one immediately
Level 1 opens as soon as you enroll. Each level has a domain-specific brief, acceptance criteria, and optional resources. Later levels stay locked until you clear the previous one.

Build and document proof of work
Ship artifacts (repos, designs, decks, demos—whatever fits your field), record short walkthrough videos, and publish a LinkedIn post (Instagram optional) with the cohort hashtags.

Submit through your dashboard
File a structured submission: problem recap, approach, links, reflection, social URLs, and 2–5 video links. Automated pre-checks flag broken links, video count, and missing hashtag hints before mentors review.

Mentor review and score
Mentors score correctness, quality, video, social proof, timeliness, and bonus (up to 120 points per level). You need at least 60/100 to clear levels 1–8 and 70/100 for capstone weeks 9–12.

Advance, revise, or use grace
If you need changes, you have 48 hours to resubmit. You also get 1 grace token for the whole program to clear one tough week without a full passing score—use it wisely.

Finish all 12 and go public
Clear every level to unlock a verifiable certificate, a shareable public profile, and leaderboard ranking. High cumulative scores (900+) can earn an excellence tier on the certificate.

Foundation weeks, then capstone
The first eight levels build skills; the last four expect integrative projects with a higher clear score.

Each unlocked level follows the same cycle—only the brief and artifacts change with your domain.

Structured submissions keep mentors fair and give you a consistent portfolio narrative.
Weekly submission checklist
- Problem recap — show you understood the brief
- Approach summary — how you planned and executed
- Artifact links — one URL per line (repo, Figma, sheet, demo, etc.)
- Short reflection — what you learned this week
- LinkedIn post URL (tag @ShalyamOfficial when you share)
- Instagram post URL (optional but scored when provided)
- 2–5 walkthrough or demo video URLs
- Optional screenshots uploaded with your submission

Scoring
How mentors grade your week
Scores sum to your weekly total (max 120). Clear thresholds: {{ program_rules.clear_threshold }}/100 for levels 1–8 and {{ program_rules.capstone_clear_threshold }}/100 for levels 9–12.

You receive 1 grace token for the entire program to clear one level without a full passing score. Resubmissions are allowed within 48 hours when a mentor requests revision.

Is this a paid internship or a job placement?+
This is Shalyam’s structured 12-week proof-of-work program: real projects, mentor review, and a verifiable certificate. It is not a guaranteed job, but it is designed to produce portfolio evidence employers can evaluate.
Can I change my domain after enrolling?+
You choose one primary domain at enrollment for all 12 levels. Changing later requires admin approval because level templates and mentor routing are domain-specific.
How long do I have per level?+
Each unlocked level gets a 7-day deadline from the moment it opens. Your dashboard shows the exact due time. Plan to submit on time for full timeliness points.
What if my submission is not approved?+
Mentors may mark a submission as needs revision. You can resubmit within 48 hours. If you are stuck once during the program, you may spend your single grace token to clear a level without a full passing score.
What are automated pre-checks?+
When you submit, Shalyam pings your artifact and social URLs, counts your videos (2–5 required), and reminds you if core hashtags are missing from your text. Mentors still make the final call.
How do I earn the excellence certificate?+
Complete all 12 levels and clear the cumulative score bar (900+) across your cleared weeks. Everyone who finishes receives at least a completion certificate.
Who can see my progress?+
You control leaderboard display name privacy (handle vs full name). Your public profile link shows level progress and domain; enroll with a Shalyam account you are comfortable representing professionally.
