2. Terms of Service (Shalyam Faculty app)

These Terms apply specifically to your download and use of the Shalyam Faculty mobile app. They supplement (and do not replace) our website Terms of Service and Privacy Policy where those documents also apply to data processed through the app.

2.1 The service

The app lets authorised faculty and staff sign in to Shalyam and use college-provided features such as campus entry and exit via QR scan, attendance-related workflows, notices, and other modules your institution enables. The app is free to download; your college provisions access.

2.2 Eligibility & accounts

You must be an adult staff member authorised by your institution. Accounts are created or enabled by your college on the Shalyam platform. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity under your account.

2.3 Acceptable use

• Use the app only for legitimate college work and attendance as your institution requires.
• Do not share QR codes, tokens, or login details to falsify presence or impersonate others.
• Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt unauthorised access to Shalyam systems.
• Do not use the camera or network features except as intended (for example QR scanning).

2.4 Permissions & data

The app may request Internet, camera (for QR scan), and notifications where enabled. Processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and the Play Console Data safety form. You may request account deletion as described on Faculty app — account & data deletion.

2.5 Availability & changes

We may update the app, APIs, or these Terms to improve security, comply with law, or reflect new features. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

2.6 Disclaimer & liability

The app is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Attendance and campus records depend on correct use and college configuration. See our website Disclaimer for general platform limitations.

2.7 Governing law

These app Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Nagpur, Maharashtra, unless mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise.
