2. Terms of Service (Shalyam Students app)

These Terms apply specifically to your download and use of the Shalyam Students mobile app. They supplement (and do not replace) our website Terms of Service and Privacy Policy where those documents also apply to data processed through the app.

2.1 The service

The app lets enrolled students sign in to Shalyam and use features your college enables, such as campus attendance (including QR check-in where configured), fees, marks and academic records, notices, anti-ragging and compliance flows, and related student services. The app is free to download; your college provisions access.

2.2 Eligibility & accounts

You must be a student authorised by your institution. Accounts are created or enabled by your college on the Shalyam platform. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity under your account. If you are under 18, use the app with your institution’s and parent or guardian guidance as applicable.

2.3 Acceptable use

• Use the app only for legitimate academic and campus purposes as your institution requires.
• Do not share login details, QR codes, or tokens to falsify attendance or impersonate others.
• Do not misuse concern or grievance features to harass staff or submit false reports.
• Do not reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt unauthorised access to Shalyam systems.

2.4 Permissions & data

The app may request Internet, camera (where QR or document capture is enabled), and notifications. Processing of personal data (including academic and attendance data) is described in our Privacy Policy and the Play Console Data safety form. You may request account deletion as described on Students app — account & data deletion.

2.5 Availability & changes

We may update the app, APIs, or these Terms to improve security, comply with law, or reflect new features. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

2.6 Disclaimer & liability

The app is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. Marks, fees, and attendance shown depend on college records and correct use. See our website Disclaimer for general platform limitations.

2.7 Governing law

These app Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Nagpur, Maharashtra, unless mandatory consumer law in your country requires otherwise.
